Job summary

Medical Facilities Of America, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Assistant to support the Director of Maintenance in keeping the facility safe and functional. The role covers building, equipment and grounds upkeep, with duties ranging from repairs to housekeeping in elevated areas.

Responsibilities include on-call emergencies, freight handling, wheelchair servicing, and maintenance of utilities and vehicles. A Maryland driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or Technical School preferred.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with older adults in a warm and professional manner.
• Must have valid Maryland driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains buildings, equipment and grounds; performs repairs as needed.
• Changes screens and storm windows and performs housekeeping in high places.
• Runs errands and assists with incoming/outgoing freight.
• Services wheelchairs and geri-chairs; moves resident oxygen as required.
• Maintains plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electricity; removes snow/trash.
• Remains on call for emergencies and supports facility vehicle maintenance.
