Job summary

Outagamie County is seeking a Mechanic/Maintenance Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds. The role reports to the Shop Foreman and Equipment/Facilities Superintendent and requires after-hours availability for emergencies and highway conditions.

The ideal candidate has a valid Class A/B/C/D CDL or the ability to obtain endorsements, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience with building systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with relevant building trades coursework.
• At least two years in construction, remodeling or maintenance (carpentry/plumbing/electrical).
• Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements or ability to obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Repair tires and perform road service; respond to emergencies after hours.
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools used in maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot building systems (boilers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Assist with inventory and safety procedures.
