Job summary

Outagamie County is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance of buildings, equipment and grounds. The role requires a valid CDL and strong troubleshooting abilities, with duties including after-hours emergency responses and routine upkeep across multiple facilities.

The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, able to read blueprints, and capable of working independently or in teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with trade experience in construction, maintenance or related fields.
• Must hold a valid CDL (Class A) with appropriate endorsements or ability to obtain within two years.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics and understand building systems.

Responsibilities

• Report after hours for emergencies and highway conditions; respond within required times.
• Repair tires and tire chains, perform road service and tire replacements as needed.
• Maintain buildings and grounds: cleaning, painting, mowing, snow removal.
• Operate and maintain basic tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot boilers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other building systems.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs; read and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate findings with field staff and supervisors; provide on-call coverage as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance and be able to work overtime when required.
