Job summary

KQED Inc. is seeking an On-Call Custodial/Event Staff for our San Francisco facilities. You will perform routine cleaning, assist with event setups, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for staff and guests.

This in-person role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as events dictate, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills. COVID-19 vaccination is required per policy and safety standards observed at KQED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training a plus.
• Experience in custodial services or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials.
• Strong communication skills with staff, visitors, and event attendees.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Custodial duties: cleaning offices, restrooms, and common areas; maintain cleanliness.
• Event support: assist with setup/breakdown and monitor spaces during events.
• Facility maintenance: inspect areas and report maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Safety and compliance: follow safety procedures and health regulations.
