Job summary

Edina Public Schools is seeking a Custodian Substitute (On-Call) to support cleaning services district-wide. This role is non-exempt with a variable schedule based on assignments. The wage is $24.26 per hour, with eligibility for benefits as described in the district's policies.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrates mechanical aptitude, plus the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and visitors. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Boiler license preferred or ability to obtain one.
• Mechanical aptitude for performing and learning repair work
• Custodian experience preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
• Interest in working in a school district environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, employees, and visitors.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with employees.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning within assigned areas, hallways, restrooms, gyms and school areas.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules and work assignments.
• Provide a safe, clean learning environment for students, faculty and staff.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Boiler license preferred
