Job summary

YouthCare in Seattle is seeking an On-Call Engagement Specialist for part-time, non-exempt work. Shifts include day, swing, grave, and overnight hours with a $1.75/hour on-call differential in lieu of benefits.

The role focuses on supervision, safety, crisis intervention, and youth development in a residential setting. Responsibilities include de‑escalation, activity planning, documentation, and ensuring compliant, trauma‑informed care for high‑risk youth.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience successfully working with children or young adults.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with DCYF background clearance processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site supervision and crisis intervention for residents.
• Maintain professional boundaries and a professional environment.
• Be flexible with shifts, including weekends and overnights, and cross-train for coverage.
• Assist with recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities aligned with goals.
• Assist youth in self-care and meal preparation as needed.
• Attend required trainings and contribute to safety and cleanliness of the facility.
• May dispense medication and complete related documentation.
• Prepare incident reports for any notable events.
