Job summary

DESC is seeking an On-Call Support Staff to assist the Crisis Solution Center (CSC) in Seattle. The role involves 24/7 on-call availability, monitoring security cameras, providing meals, and supporting clients in crisis with a compassionate, team-based approach.

The position is temporary and requires flexibility across day, swing, and night shifts; onboarding and mandatory training are provided. Prior related experience and a valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum expectations include being reasonably available for on-call shifts with short notice, a minimum of 15 hours per month or two 7.5-hour shifts, maintaining supervisor contact information, and attending required onboarding and training.
• Two years’ experience with homeless adults or related social services is preferred.
• Ability to obtain a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security by monitoring cameras, answering calls, and performing 15-minute wellness checks.
• Respond to emergencies and contact authorities as needed.
• Keep work area orderly and clean; remake beds and clean client cubicles after discharge.
• Handle meal services and clean-up during shifts; document client interactions.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment; ensure timely attendance.
