Job summary

The Washington State Department of Corrections Cedar Creek Corrections Center in Littlerock, WA is seeking dedicated AC Cooks on-call to support the kitchen operations. This role involves training incarcerated individuals, overseeing meal preparation, and ensuring safety and HACCP compliance within a prison environment.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and complete culinary training; two years of large-scale cooking experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary arts program completed at an accredited community college or vocational school.
• Two years of cook experience in large-scale operation (300 meals/day).

Responsibilities

• Participate in preparation and service of all food on shift.
• Supervise and instruct incarcerated individuals in cooking and food service.
• Ensure safety, hygiene, HACCP, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
• Perform inventory and reporting tasks.
• Maintain security and order in kitchen areas.
• Ensure all tasks align with policies and safety requirements.
