Telecare Corporation in Oakland, CA is seeking a Cook to manage ordering, preparation, cooking and serving meals for members, including therapeutic diets. The role emphasizes nutrition, safety, and quality of meals in a healthcare setting.

Shifts available include On-Call AM/PM with 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM and 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM; starting wage is $23.00 per hour, with geographic differentials based on location and experience.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in food production and knowledge of therapeutic diets.
• High School graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience in the use of institutional kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators and freezers.
• Knowledge of nutritional principles in the preparation of regular and therapeutic diets.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment.
• All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.
