Visalia Post Acute is seeking a dependable On-Call Dietary Cook to join our dietary team. Help make each day better for our residents by preparing nutritious, flavorful meals that support their health, comfort, and well-being.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred, especially in a healthcare, long-term care, or high-volume kitchen.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special diet instructions.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, kitchen sanitation, and safe food handling.
• Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to provide coverage for varying shifts as needed.
• Ability to perform essential job duties, with reasonable accommodations as needed.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Follow prescribed diets, food texture requirements, and resident dietary restrictions.
• Ensure meals are appealing, properly prepared, and served at appropriate temperatures.
• Record food temperatures and follow safe food handling and storage procedures.
• Prepare modified-texture foods, including pureed meals, as directed.
• Coordinate with dietary staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including equipment and work surfaces.
• Properly label, date, and store food and assist with monitoring supplies.
• Report equipment issues, food safety concerns, and resident meal concerns to the Dietary Supervisor.
• Follow facility safety, sanitation, and infection prevention procedures.
