Job summary

State of Washington is seeking an On-Call Cook 1 for the Walla Walla Veterans Home. This on-call role supports meal preparation for residents and staff, with shifts scheduled on a rotational basis. Expect minimum three shifts per week across two shifts, and no telework.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience in large-scale food preparation or cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all meals on assigned days.
• Serve meals to residents, staff and visitors.

• Use batch cooking techniques and ensure food safety.
• Monitor and maintain food item quality and freshness.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
