Job summary

MBK Senior Living is seeking an on-call cook to prepare meals per recipes and menus while supporting the Dining Services team. The role involves ensuring food safety, proper temperatures, and clean and organized kitchen and dining areas.

You will work under the Director of Dining Services, potential supervision of servers and dishwashers, and contribute to a positive, hospitality-driven environment. Prior cooking experience and a current food handler permit are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Age over 18 years.
• Background clearance as required by government regulations.
• Current Food handlers permit.
• Minimum of two years’ experience cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items in accordance with recipes and menus.
• Oversee the Dining Services Department under direction from the Director of Dining Services.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Supervise servers and dishwashers as needed.
• Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling and dating of leftovers.
• Prepare upcoming menu items ensuring they are stocked and pulled as directed by recipes.
