Job summary

Corvallis Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare meals meeting dietary needs and resident requests. If you have restaurant cooking experience and enjoy making a positive impact on residents, we’d like to hear from you.

The Cook will prepare food per diets, supervise sanitation, and support inventory and safety protocols under the Dietary Services Manager. Overtime and scheduling flexibility may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Handler's permit or ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to relate positively to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portions and temperature controls.
• Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils.
• Check trays for menu and diet accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; follow sanitary and safety policies.

Summary

The Cook is responsible to prepare food in accordance with prescribed resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager.

$21.27 - $27.31 per hour

Job Functions

• Prepare and serve food and meals food in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies.
• Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils.
• Check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Be able to work in a non-temperature regulated environment (work near ovens, stoves, enter walk in refrigerators/freezers).
• Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents.
