The American Cancer Society is seeking an On-Call Concierge to be the first point of contact at our Hope Lodge front desk. You will greet guests, handle check-in/out, respond to inquiries, coordinate transportation, and help maintain a welcoming, safe environment.

This on-call role provides flexible shifts typically totaling less than 20 hours per week, with daytime, evening, overnight, and weekend coverage required.

The Concierge serves as the first point of contact for guests, managing front desk operations and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment. This role assists with guest check-in/out, responds to inquiries, and coordinates transportation and security.

This is an On-Call Concierge position that provides coverage based on operational needs that will typically entail working less than 20 hours/week.

Candidates must have scheduling flexibility and be available to work a variety of shifts as needed to support Hope Lodge operations and guest services.

Please note: Because this is an on-call role, we are seeking candidates who can accommodate daytime, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Limited availability may not meet the needs of this position.

The pay rate for this role is $19.50 per hour , plus shift differential pay based on hours worked outside of the day shift.

Shift Differential Pay:

• 10% — Monday through Friday for hours worked after 6:00 p.m.
• 15% — Saturday and Sunday for hours worked on weekends (5:30AM - 12:00AM)
• 20% — For hours worked between 12:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Greet guests and manage check-in and check-out procedures (30%)
• Provide information about lodge amenities and community resources (20%)
• Coordinate transportation & EMPOWER Program services and schedules (15%)
• Respond to guest requests, concerns, and emergencies (15%)
• Maintain organized front desk area and accurate guest records (10%)
• Monitor lobby security and implement safety protocols (10%)

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Additional education or training in hospitality management or customer service is a plus.
• Previous experience in hospitality, guest services, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of Customer Service Experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and multitask
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multi-line phone systems
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimal travel required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The role may require extended periods of standing and walking, particularly during front desk duties and while assisting guests.
• Occasional lifting and moving of luggage, packages, or other items may be necessary when assisting guests with check-in, check-out, or transportation.
• Some manual tasks, such as carrying luggage or opening doors for guests, may be required during guest interactions.
• The role may involve physical endurance to handle the demands of a fast-paced environment, including managing multiple tasks and assisting guests throughout the day.
