Job summary

FirstService Residential in the United States seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repair across common areas, condominium buildings, and the recreation center. Responsibilities include carpentry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting, and snow removal; you will troubleshoot, log work, and coordinate with supervisors.

Responsibilities include updates to the General Manager, daily inventory monitoring, responding to emergencies, and performing inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of experience in building maintenance and repair work.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to read and understand blueprints or plans.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions, keep accurate records, logs, and perform administrative tasks.
• May be required to use personal transportation to perform duties.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, wood finishing, electrical and carpentry principles.
• Ability to operate various hand and power tools: drills, floor buffer, vacuum, carpet cleaner, power washer, and other maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular status updates to the General Manager.
• Monitor and maintain inventory daily; submit requests as needed.
• Act with minimal supervision and take initiative.
• Recognize and address problems quickly and decisively.
• Respond to emergencies; coordinate with others to ensure safety.
• Understand and adhere to budgets.
• Complete regular community inspections and prepare status reports.
• Perform repairs of common area buildings and equipment; document work orders.
