Job summary

The Western New York Arena, LLC seeks a Chief Engineer to operate, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems at KeyBank Center, LECOM Harbor Center, and 79 Perry St. in Buffalo.

You will supervise full-time and part-time stationary engineers, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with codes and NHL regulations. A valid Chief Stationary Engineer license and 5 years of centrifugal chiller experience are required; a college degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Technical or vocational electrical school diploma is required. College degree preferred.
• Valid Chief Stationary Engineer License issued by the City of Buffalo, New York is required.
• Five (5) years working as a stationary engineer with centrifugal chiller experience are required.
• Thorough knowledge of the operation, repair and maintenance of low-pressure boilers, pumps, HVAC and other equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and wiring diagrams required.
• Working knowledge of computerized building automation systems.
• Ammonia Refrigeration maintenance and operation experience are preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as WNYA, LLC Chief Engineer of record and display license per City of Buffalo Charter.
• Schedule, manage, and train full-time and part-time stationary engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems of the physical plant.
• Maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
• Comply with local, state, and federal codes as well as NHL regulations.
• Inventory equipment and supplies.
• Maintain energy efficient operation of the physical plant.
• Create and promote a safe work environment.
• Manage preventative maintenance schedules
• Inform/Coordinate/Communicate with Supervisor as necessary.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
• Be responsible, punctual, courteous, and respectful.
• Always maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.
