Job summary

PJ Helicopters, Inc. is seeking Call When Needed Second in Command pilots for CH-47D operations, including fire suppression, utility, and construction missions. This on‑call role offers per diem, lodging, and travel support to eligible pilots.

Qualified candidates will have CH‑47D experience, turbine helicopter time, and a current FAA rotorcraft certificate with BV‑234 rating, plus a medical certificate and a recent flight review.

Qualifications

• 500 hrs total turbine helicopter time.
• 500 hrs total CH-47D/F time.
• FAA Commercial Rotorcraft Certificate with BV-234 Type Rating or current CH-47D/F qualification.
• Current FAA Class 1 or 2 medical certificate.
• Flight review within last 12 months (preferred).
• Available to start and travel to California.
• Pilots to provide own flight helmet and tan flight suit.

Responsibilities

• Fly call‑when‑needed opportunities year‑round.
• Support Fire Suppression, Utility and Construction operations.
• Operate on external load missions in CH‑47D/F as needed.
• Pursue permanent full‑time opportunities based on vacancies and performance.
