Job summary

Coulson Aviation is seeking a CH47 Pilot in Command (PIC) to lead flight operations in support of aerial firefighting and related missions. The PIC will ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient execution of flights, with responsibilities spanning preflight planning, flight execution, and post-flight documentation.

Qualified candidates hold a Commercial Rotorcraft license, an instrument rating, and substantial PIC hours; strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in

Qualifications

• Must hold FAA Commercial Rotorcraft License.
• Instrument Rating (Helicopter) required.
• Minimum 2,500 hours PIC (helicopter) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and operational standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Exercise final authority for safe operation of the aircraft per 14 CFR 91.3.
• Review flight assignments, weather, NOTAMs, and mission requirements.
• Ensure preflight planning including weight & balance, fuel, routing, and performance.
• Conduct thorough aircraft inspections and ensure readiness for flight.
• Maintain accurate flight logs and operational records.
• Coordinate pilot shift changes and brief crew when applicable.
• Ensure compliance with duty and flight time limitations.
• Represent Coulson Aviation professionally with clients and stakeholders.
