Job summary

Billings Flying Service, Inc. in Billings, MT is seeking a Pilot in Command to oversee flight operations under the Chief Pilot. You will ensure safety, compliance with FAA regulations, and lead crewmembers in dynamic missions, including aerial firefighting tasks.

The role requires extensive total flight time, turbine experience, and USFS familiarity. Availability for domestic and international assignments is expected.

Qualifications

• PIC must understand BFS policies and core values.
• Extensive FAA regulations knowledge and SOP familiarity.
• USFS firefighting experience in helicopters is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assume PIC responsibility per CFR 91.3 and weather decisions.
• Ensure Safety of Flight and supervise field crew.
• Assist and train flight crewmembers and conduct audits.
• Review flight plans, weather, procedures, and special instructions.
• Ensure preflight, loading, equipment, and manning for flight.
• Maintain compliance with duty and flight time limits.
• Record discrepancies and inform maintenance personnel.

PIC 2500+ hours

Turbine 1500+ hours

USFS firefighting experience

Second-Class Medical

CH-47D type rated preferable
