Job summary

Senior Helpers Baltimore and Central Maryland is seeking compassionate caregivers, CNAs, and GNAs for weekend work across Baltimore County, Howard County, and Baltimore City. On-call shifts include a $50 weekend-day stipend plus hourly pay, with day, evening, and overnight options.

Training, orientation, and ongoing support are provided to help you succeed. We offer weekend-only assignments with flexible schedules and opportunities to advance into Lead Caregiver and office roles.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving, CNA, GNA, or home care experience preferred
• Availability to work during the day
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to pass all required background screenings
• Current TB screening or willingness to obtain one
• CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain it
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers, and mobility assistance

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
• Help with walking, transfers, and mobility
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry
• Provide medication reminders
• Offer companionship and conversation
• Provide transportation to appointments and activities
• Observe and report changes in a client’s condition
• Complete simple visit documentation

AVAILABILITY

Applicants for this position must be available to work weekends

DESCRIPTION

This is an on-call position. You receive a $50 stipend for each weekend day that you sign up to work as well as your hourly rate for any shifts that you work. You must be available from 8am-10pm and must be willing to work any call-outs that are assigned to you. Applicants for this position must be able and willing to work in environments that may have pets and smoking.

Available assignments include:

• Day shifts
• Short and extended shifts
• Ongoing, consistent weekend assignments

Specific schedules will depend on client needs, caregiver qualifications, availability, and location.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Helpers caregiver, you'll help older adults remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes by providing personalized care that may include:

• Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Helping with walking, transfers, and mobility
• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when needed
• Performing light housekeeping and laundry
• Providing medication reminders
• Offering companionship and meaningful conversation
• Providing transportation to appointments, errands, and community activities
• Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition
• Completing simple visit documentation

Every client has unique needs, and you'll have the support of our experienced office team every step of the way.
