Job summary

Senior Helpers Baltimore and Central Maryland is hiring compassionate caregivers to help older adults remain safe and independent at home. The role includes day shifts with weekend opportunities, ongoing training, and support from an experienced office team.

We offer paid orientation, flexible scheduling based on client needs, and opportunities for advancement into lead caregiver and office roles. Training and a positive team culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving, CNA, GNA, or home care experience preferred.
• Availability to work during the day.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Help with walking, transfers, and mobility.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Offer companionship and meaningful conversation.
• Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and activities.
• Observe and report changes in client’s condition.

AVAILABILITY

Applicants for this position must be available to work during the day

Available assignments include:

• Day shifts

• Short and extended shifts

• Ongoing, consistent weekend assignments

Specific schedules will depend on client needs, caregiver qualifications, availability, and location.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Helpers caregiver, you’ll help older adults remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes by providing personalized care that may include:

• Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene

• Helping with walking, transfers, and mobility

• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when needed

• Performing light housekeeping and laundry

• Providing medication reminders

• Offering companionship and meaningful conversation

• Providing transportation to appointments, errands, and community activities

• Observing and reporting changes in a client’s condition

• Completing simple visit documentation

Every client has unique needs, and you’ll have the support of our experienced office team every step of the way.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving, CNA, GNA, or home care experience preferred

• Availability to work during the day

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Authorization to work in the United States

• Ability to pass all required background screenings

• Current TB screening or willingness to obtain one

• CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain it

• Comfortable providing hands‑on personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers, and mobility assistance
