Job summary

Senior Helpers - Southern Maryland is seeking compassionate, reliable caregivers to provide one-on-one home care for seniors in Prince Frederick and surrounding areas. The role requires relevant Maryland CNA/GNA/HHA certification and at least 1 year of caregiving experience, CPR, TB test, a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Negative TB test.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States with original documentation.
• Compassionate, dependable, and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to help seniors live safely at home.
• Assist with personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility.
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Provide medication reminders and meal preparation.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide transportation to appointments or activities as needed.
• Observe changes in client condition and report to the office.
• Follow individualized care plans and maintain documentation.
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, and staff.

Caregivers can typically expect to work 8-40 hours per week, depending on availability, client needs, and performance. Weekend and holiday availability is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Helpers caregiver, you will provide one‑on‑one support that allows seniors to live safely and comfortably at home.

Caregiver responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Offering medication reminders
• Preparing meals
• Performing light housekeeping and laundry
• Providing transportation to appointments, errands, or activities as needed
• Observing and reporting changes in client condition
• Following individualized care plans
• Maintaining accurate documentation
• Communicating professionally with clients, families, and the office team

You will build meaningful relationships with your clients and become someone they trust, depend on, and look forward to seeing.
