Job summary

The University of Wyoming is seeking a Facilities Specialist – Dining Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, efficient operation of campus dining facilities and equipment across locations. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on kitchen equipment, utilities, and facility systems, supporting a clean, compliant dining environment.

This essential on‑call role requires attention to safety, the ability to read manuals and schematics, and coordination with campus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years work‑related experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR as per university policy.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of commercial food service equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Maintain kitchen plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems in coordination with Facilities staff.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and minimize disruptions.
• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and work orders.
• Support installation and decommissioning of equipment during renovations.
• Collaborate with dining leadership and vendors on long‑term maintenance solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes, sanitation standards, and health regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and use PPE properly.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and after‑hours responses as needed.
