Job summary

Douglas County Salmon Harbor Marina/Winchester Bay is seeking an on-call, non-benefited Maintenance Technician to work as needed with no guaranteed hours. You will perform journey-level duties maintaining county buildings, equipment and grounds and assist with remodel projects.

The ideal candidate has at least four years of technical training in building construction or mechanical maintenance, and at least one building trade certification or license.

Qualifications

• At least four years of technical training or apprenticeship in building construction or mechanical maintenance.
• One or more building trade certifications or licenses required.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC or appliance repair is included.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on county buildings, equipment and grounds.
• Assist remodels: move/install furniture, replace flooring, paint, remove debris.
• Assess maintenance needs and report to supervisor for planning.
• Operate hand and power tools and maintain work areas.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC and related systems; test water samples as needed.
• Repair electrical systems and troubleshoot circuits from schematics.
