Emerald City Enhanced Services is a small 16-bed residential setting in Lakewood, WA, offering 24/7 care for adults with behavioral health challenges. As a Behavioral/Mental Health Technician (BHT/MHT), you will help residents build stability, independence, and quality of life in a home-like environment.

Behavioral/Mental Health Technician Night Shift/ Per-Diem

Starting Pay: $21–$23 per hour + shift differentials

Schedule: Night shift, On-call BHT

Candidates must commit to the following schedule:

• At least one shift per pay period (approximately once a week or twice a month)

• A total of 3 shifts would be preferable

As a Behavioral/Mental Health Technician (BHT)(MHT), you’ll play a vital role in helping our residents build stability, independence, and quality of life.

What You’ll Do

• Provide direct care and daily support to residents in our 16-bed enhanced services facility.

• Encourage participation in life skills, groups, and recreational activities.

• Assist with activities of daily living, including meals, hygiene, and personal care.

• Support licensed staff in implementing individualized treatment plans.

• Accurately document resident progress and interventions.

• Implement an in-house food program with minimal meal preparations.

• Assist with an in-house food program, including meal setup, light preparation, and coordination with team members as part of daily workflow expectations. Responsibilities may evolve as the program develops and operational needs change.

• Support evolving operational workflow and adapt to changes in responsibilities as the program continues to grow.

• Promote a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for all.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has prior experience in behavioral/mental health, long-term care, or direct support; or

• Demonstrates a strong passion for mental and behavioral health (psych) and a desire to learn.

• Brings compassion, patience, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.

• Works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Basic Requirements

• Possess an active Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) or Home Care Aide (HCA) credential in Washington State.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
