Job summary

Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is seeking a Banquets Server to support our luxury events. You will deliver food and beverage service during hotel banquet functions and help maintain an elegant, guest-focused atmosphere.

The role requires a positive attitude, basic food & beverage knowledge, and the ability to stand for long periods. A valid food handler badge and flexible schedule are preferred for weekend and holiday events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of service standards and guest relations.
• Experience in food and beverage or customer service preferred (1 year).
• Ability to lift moderate weight and stay active.
• Must be able to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent verbal communication and professional appearance.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.

Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa is now recruiting a Banquets Server to join our team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. The property boasts 287 guestrooms including 64 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. Position Summary

Event servers are responsible for food and drink service at hotel banquet functions. They make sure function space visually appealing and present the menu offering for the event. This may include linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Other duties include general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a sanitary environment.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Serve guests during functions using Forbes service standards.
• Set up event room as requested by the supervisor to include glassware, service ware, linen.
• Attend pre-shift before events begin in order to learn function particulars, including hotel and guest expectations.
• Greet and welcome guests and respond to their requests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Serve the beverage and food in the appropriate order and in tune with the expectation of the supervisor so as to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
• Quickly remove dishes as guests finish each meal at the end of each meal or function.
• Abide by all corporate act, laws and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages when necessary, and check with guests to make sure they are satisfied.
• Maintain cleanliness of the event space throughout the function, including waste disposal and ensuring surfaces are clean.
• Ensure ell equipment and supplies are properly handled and returned to designated storage areas.
• After the function, reset event room in accordance with the supervisor's specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for other functions.
• Perform other related functions that may be assigned.

Qualifications

Event Services – Server Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or certificate in relevant training.
• Must have basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations, food and beverage preparations as well as etiquette.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service is preferred. Hotel experience is preferred.
• Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight;
• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with cooks and other staff.
• A valid food badge.
• Refined verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work a flexible schedule; weekends, holidays, overnight shifts.
• Well-groomed, professional appearance.
