Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street in Boston is seeking an On-Call Banquet Server to provide exceptional knowledge of food and beverage offerings. You will assist with function setup, serve guests with precision, and coordinate with the kitchen to ensure orders are accurate and delivered timely.

The role requires 6–12 months in restaurant or related experience, high school education or equivalent, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Education: High school education or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Six to twelve months of restaurant, food and beverage, or equivalent experience.
• Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of restaurant operations and English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Offer pre-determined menu selections to each table and explain origin, taste and preparation.
• Communicate guest orders to the Banquet Manager or kitchen with any special requests.
• Check kitchen orders against guest orders to ensure accuracy.
• Transport items to tables promptly to maintain food quality.
• Assist in setup of linen, china, glass, silver and decor for each function.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond to concerns promptly.
• Breakdown and reset tables, buffets and food stations.

The Opportunity:

Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston is currently looking for an On-Call Banquet Server!

Basic Purpose:

Serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods.

Essential function of the job:

Offer pre-determined menu selections to each table; maintain knowledge of each selection’s, origin, taste, and preparation method; communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the Banquet Manager or kitchen; check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order; transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.

Assist in set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order.

Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.

Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education: High school education or equivalent experience.

Experience:Six to twelve months of restaurant, food and beverage, or equivalent experience is required.

Skills and Abilities:Requires a working knowledge of the restaurant aspect of Four Seasons services, policies or operations and general knowledge of the hotel.

Working knowledge is generally learned on-the- job.

Requires knowledge or the ability to operate computer equipment and the reservations system. Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

Visa sponsorship is not available. Must already be legally permitted to work in the United States. Applicants without valid work authorization for the United States will not be considered.
