Job summary

The Ballantyne, A Luxury Collection Hotel in Charlotte, NC seeks an On-Call Banquet Captain to deliver exceptional guest service during meetings, weddings, and banquets, while also covering regular F&B shifts as needed.

Initially part-time on-call with a plan to transition to a full-time role as business needs allow; the role requires leadership, flexibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Banquet Captain or similar role in a hotel or catering environment.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other relevant software.

Responsibilities

• Work assigned banquet shifts and assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of meetings, weddings, banquets, and other special events.
• Serve food and beverages according to event specifications and hotel standards.
• Assist with buffet service, plated meals, receptions, and other banquet functions.
• Assist with the breakdown and cleaning of banquet spaces following events.
• Coordinate event setup, service, staff assignments, and guest needs when assigned to a Banquet Captain shift.
• Communicate with the Banquet Manager, Captain, culinary team, and other departments to ensure successful events.
• Work regular serving shifts in the hotel's food and beverage outlets as assigned.
• Provide attentive and courteous table service to guests.
• Take and deliver food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Replenish food, beverages, and supplies as needed.
• Clear tables and maintain clean and organized dining and service areas.
• Follow all food and beverage service standards and procedures.
