Job summary

Habitat America, LLC in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a full-time role. You will manage general apartment maintenance, appliance repairs, drywall and painting, with opportunities to perform carpentry and basic plumbing/electrical tasks as needed.

Candidates should work well independently or as part of a team, and be willing to join a weekend/on-call schedule. HVAC/CFC certification is a plus; drivers license is required.

Qualifications

• Prior apartment maintenance experience.
• Experience with appliance repairs, drywall and painting.
• HVAC/CFC certification is a plus.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work weekends and be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Handle technical matters related to general apartment maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures.
• Assist with unit turnovers and after-hours on-call rotation.
• Report to Community Manager and coordinate with contractors as needed.
