Job summary

Habitat America, LLC in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a full-time role. You will manage general apartment maintenance, appliance repairs, drywall and painting, with opportunities to perform carpentry and basic plumbing/electrical tasks as needed.

Candidates should work well independently or as part of a team, and be willing to join a weekend/on-call schedule. HVAC/CFC certification is a plus; drivers license is required.

Habitat America, LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced fulltime Maintenance Technicianin Silver Spring, MD. Habitat America is a fast-growing property management company is largely based in the Mid-Atlantic region and has been established for over 30 years.

Applicants who are qualified for this position have prior apartment maintenance experience. Experience with appliance repairs, general carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, drywall and painting is needed. HVAC & CFC certifications are a plus! It is imperative that the Maintenance Technician be able to work independently and also as a member of a team.

This position is responsible for all technical matters related to general apartment maintenance. In addition to technical maintenance tickets, preventative maintenance procedures, this position will assist with unit turnovers and be part of the after-hours on-call rotation. The Maintenance Technician directly reports to the Community Manager. Hourly wage is dependent on experience and certification.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Energetic, self-motivated individual who is able to work as a team
• Must have previous experience with apartment maintenance; appliance troubleshooting, drywall, and painting
• HVAC/CFC Certification is preferred
• Must have understanding and oversee work performed by contractors
• Must have a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times
• Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Requires extensive mobility and excellent physical condition
• Must be able and willing to work weekends and be part of an on-call rotation (days, nights, weekends)
• When on call, must respond to call within 1 hours travel time.
• Must be willing to have flexible hours-schedule is approximately 24 hours per week
