Job summary

Canton Apartments in Canton, NY is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure a safe, comfortable living environment. The role includes on-call duties, preventative maintenance, and making-ready vacant units for new residents.

Responsibilities include completing service requests, diagnosing building systems, and maintaining records, with a focus on quality workmanship and resident satisfaction. On-site work and a rotation may apply.

Qualifications

Experience in apartment or facilities maintenance preferred.
Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry.
HVAC certification preferred; additional certifications are a plus.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance on units and common areas.
Complete service requests and work orders promptly and professionally.
Respond to on-call maintenance requests and emergencies.
Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall and painting issues.
Prepare vacants and make-ready units for new residents.
Conduct routine inspections and maintain safety and curb appeal.
Maintain records of work orders, inspections, inventory and activities.
Communicate effectively with residents, vendors and team members.
