Sacred Heart Schools Atherton is seeking a Temporary 8th Grade Algebra Teacher On-Call Substitute to deliver CPM-aligned algebra instruction to eighth graders in Atherton, CA, from September 2026 through December 18, 2026. This on-call role supports P-8 operations and contributes to a vibrant school community.

The ideal candidate holds a BA in a relevant field with teaching experience, preferably in independent or Catholic schools, and is committed to equity, collaboration, and ongoing

Qualifications

• BA degree and three years of teaching experience; experience in independent/Catholic school preferred.
• Ability to teach middle school-level course(s) in at least one other discipline.
• Fluency in English; Spanish valued and preferred.
• Commitment to equity and inclusion; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Algebra to 8th-grade students using the CPM curriculum.
• Prepares syllabi, homework assignments, and student resources.
• Maintains attendance records, grades, and other required records.
• Evaluates student work and provides meaningful feedback.
• Plans, evaluates, and revises curricula and materials.
• Uses effective classroom management to support learning.
• Collaborates with colleagues to renew curriculum and school programs.
• Maintains regular office hours to advise and assist students.
