Job summary

Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton seeks a Temporary 8th Grade Algebra Teacher Long Term Substitute to deliver CPM-aligned algebra instruction for 8th graders at our P-8 campus. This role emphasizes curriculum development, student assessment, and engagement in a Catholic independent school setting.

The ideal candidate has a BA in a relevant field with teaching experience in middle school, preferably in a Catholic school, and shows a commitment to inclusive education and collaboration with colleagues

Qualifications

• BA degree in a relevant field and three years of teaching experience; Master’s degree and/or teaching credential strongly preferred.
• Experience in an independent/Catholic school environment is desirable.
• Ability to teach middle school-level courses in additional disciplines within their subject area is valued.
• Commitment to equity and inclusion in education.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Algebra to 8th grade middle school students using the CPM curriculum.
• Prepares syllabi, homework, and student resources.
• Maintains attendance records and grades; provides feedback to students.
• Plans and revises curricula and instructional materials.
• Collaborates with colleagues to renew curriculum and school programs.
• Maintains office hours to advise students and supports professional development.
