Job summary

Spectrum News in Dallas, TX is seeking a Meteorologist to forecast weather and deliver clear, accurate updates across TV, online, and mobile platforms. You’ll join a fast-paced newsroom creating timely weather stories for a broad audience.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of forecasting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, and comfort using weather graphics, radar, and synoptic tools. You’ll collaborate with reporters and producers to keep communities informed during severe weather

Qualifications

• Experience forecasting and presenting weathercasts – 2+ years, with working knowledge of TV weather graphics systems.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology.
• Technical skills: synoptic meteorology, tropical and radar.
• Skills: ability to anticipate situations, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• Abilities: demonstrate enthusiasm in dealing with breaking news.
• Travel: must be open to travel to cover stories in your neighborhood.
• Schedule: ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to breaking news and severe weather emergencies; weekends and holidays accepted.

• Provide easy-to-understand weather forecasts for TV, digital, and mobile platforms.
• Create timely, accurate weather content for Spectrum News.
