Job summary

The County of Marin’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program invites a dedicated Ombudsman Support Service Worker I to assist staff and volunteers, supporting resident advocacy and documentation. You will download documents, enter logs, and manage files with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

This half-time role at 10 North San Pedro Road in San Rafael requires strong administrative skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a Monday–Friday schedule and potential alternative hours.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a health, social service or community organization with direct client contact.
• Six semester units from a recognized college/university in health science, behavioral science, and/or social welfare.
• An additional six months of experience may substitute for the educational requirement.

Responsibilities

• Visit licensed residential care communities and skilled nursing facilities to ensure access to Ombudsman services.
• Help resolve problems and advocate for residents’ rights and quality of life.
• Document Ombudsman services and maintain logs and files; track volunteer hours.
