HHS GOVERNMENT SERVICES LLC in Fort Jackson, SC is seeking an Electrician, Maintenance to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment at a Government facility.

You will read schematics, diagnose issues, and work with generators, switchgear, and control systems; you may perform fire alarm and call system testing and maintain safety. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience associated with commercial facilities.
  • Electrician license preferred.
  • Must be able to read schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems using electronics, computers, and software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial and industrial electrical/electronic systems, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
  • Tests, installs, repairs, and maintains equipment such as generators, ATS, UPS, transformers, switchboards, controllers, door operators, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, IR scans, and other transmission equipment.
  • Performs fire alarm system and/or call system testing and maintenance.
  • Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces and the workshop.
  • Assists maintenance teams and identifies and resolves failures/alarms related to critical building equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Location: Fort Jackson Medical Treatment Facilities (Moncrief), Columbia, South Carolina

Job Type: Full-Time

General Summary

Primary duties focus on performing installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment at a Government facility. Performs maintenance, repair, and modification of interior and exterior electrical wiring, exterior high voltage/low voltage electrical circuits and systems, and equipment associated with electrical components throughout the facilities assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial and industrial electrical/electronic systems, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
  • Tests, installs, repairs, and maintains a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, ATS, UPS, transformers, switchboards, controllers, door operators, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, IR scans, and other transmission equipment.
  • Performs fire alarm system and/or call system testing and maintenance.
  • Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces and the workshop.
  • Assists maintenance teams and solely identifies and resolves failures/alarms related to critical building equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience associated with commercial facilities.
  • Electrician license preferred.
  • Must have the skill and knowledge to use all hand and power tools, test equipment, shop machines, and aerial booms utilized by the craft.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in maintaining and repairing exterior and interior electrical wiring and components.
  • All appropriate safety practices for working with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems using electronics, computers, and software systems.
  • Use of computers for checking email, data entry on CMMS, and training.
Work Environment
  • Possible exposure to hazardous materials, requiring use of respirators and personal protective safety attire and equipment.
  • Lifting and carrying varies dependent on location of equipment, up to 30-40 ft. in height. Ability to push 50 lbs. (maintenance equipment) and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. (supplies and equipment).
  • May require entering confined spaces such as ductwork, pits, and crawl spaces.
