Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a collaborative chemist to advance RNA/oligonucleotide therapies in Indianapolis. You will synthesize ASO/siRNA, troubleshoot synthesis, and work with discovery chemistry to enable scale-up for clinical candidates.

The role emphasizes problem solving, hands-on lab work, and cross-team collaboration to accelerate innovation while maintaining rigorous documentation and quality control.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly does not sponsor visas.
• Experience with oligonucleotide instrumentation and analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize therapeutic oligonucleotides (ASO, siRNA) from small to large scales.
• Troubleshoot synthesis challenges and optimize workflows.
• Collaborate with discovery chemistry to scale up novel molecules.
• Coordinate with analytical team for quality analysis of products.
• Oversee scientists and prioritize work for the team.
• Support lead candidate discovery and interact with CMC and development teams.
