Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist in Bioconjugates to lead a multidisciplinary team in developing sustainable manufacturing processes for oligonucleotides. The role includes driving technology innovation, capacity expansion, and technology transfer to GMP facilities.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, work with cross-functional teams on regulatory deliverables, and stay current with advances in bioconjugate manufacturing within a global biotech environment.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD/PharmD with 3+ years relevant post-doc experience or MSc with 6 years or BA/BS with 8 years in scientific work.
• Experience in oligonucleotide process development and GMP manufacturing/tech transfer to CMOs.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities within a dynamic, interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary team to develop sustainable, cost-effective oligonucleotide manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to expand production capacity and improve yield.
• Drive oligonucleotide technology innovation and process understanding through modeling and characterization.
• Support cGMP manufacturing and technology transfer to GMP production facilities.
• Develop strategies to ensure process performance through data-driven approaches.
• Guide successful project deliverables and ensure timelines are met.
• Collaborate on regulatory documents and filings; stay current in bioconjugate manufacturing.
• Provide career and scientific guidance to colleagues within the organization.
• Coach and develop staff across the group.
