Job summary

Lilly Genetic Medicines is seeking a collaborative scientist in Indianapolis to lead the discovery oligosynthesis scale‑up team and accelerate RNAi Therapeutics from pre‑clinical to clinical development.

You will mentor a multidisciplinary group, drive synthesis from 150umol to 6mmol scales, and partner with CMC/Development teams to deliver essential materials for key studies. Strong communication and leadership are required.

Qualifications

PhD with 2+ years oligonucleotide synthesis experience
MS with 5+ years oligonucleotide synthesis experience

Responsibilities

Lead the Lilly Genetic Medicines discovery oligosynthesis scale‑up team to accelerate RNAi therapeutics from pre‑clinical to clinical development
Utilize synthesis methodologies to support internal capabilities and team growth through coaching and leadership
Collaborate with RNAi discovery chemistry teams to validate synthesis requirements from 150umol to 6mmol scales
Communicate results to project leads and cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless scale‑up operations
Support lead drug candidate discovery and provide materials for key studies with CMC and Development teams
Demonstrate expertise in modern organic and nucleic acid chemistry and improve synthetic methods
Oversee and prioritize work of scale‑up team members to meet timelines
Encourage diverse perspectives and ownership of outcomes among team members
