Job summary

INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA seeks a Technical Engineer for the Chocolate Bayou site in Alvin, TX. You will lead olefins process technology initiatives, partner with operations and safety teams, and advance optimization and capital projects to strengthen asset performance.

Requires a chemical engineering degree and 10+ years in petrochemicals or related fields, plus hands-on process troubleshooting and AspenTech capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering is required.
• Ten+ years of engineering experience in petrochemical, refining, chemical manufacturing, or related industries.
• Experience with continuous process operations and process troubleshooting.
• Experience with AspenTech process simulation software.
• Experience applying process safety practices to capital projects, including PHAs, LOPAs, MOCs, PSSRs, design reviews, commissioning, and startup support.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for olefins process technology and asset capability.
• Evaluate new or modified process technologies for hazard potential and lifecycle value.
• Develop process simulations, heat and material balances, equipment sizing bases, process control concepts, and safeguard requirements.
• Identify optimization opportunities to improve yield, throughput, energy efficiency, and profitability.
• Develop project scopes, capital project concepts, and technology roadmaps; drive risk reduction and value realization.
