Job summary

A healthcare provider in Oklahoma City is seeking a Physical Therapist to perform assessments and develop tailored treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. The ideal candidate should hold a current State license, possess a degree in Physical Therapy, and ideally have experience in rehabilitation. Responsibilities include supervising both patients and rehabilitation staff in alignment with state practices. Qualifications

• Current State license of Physical Therapy.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS or equivalent certification, required to be current before working independently with patients.
• Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of experience as a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist, with experience caring for adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Supervise patients and indirectly supervise rehabilitation technicians and PT assistants.
• Ensure compliance with State Practice Acts.

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures regarding referral and standards of treatment, the Physical Therapist performs objective assessments and develops comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include direct supervision of patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians, and general supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. All duties are performed consistently with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform duties.
