Job summary

Hilcorp seeks an experienced field operator to monitor and operate facility equipment, including pumps and valves, in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. The role emphasizes safety, routine maintenance, and accurate record-keeping in a hazardous environment.

This position requires a 14/14 day, 12-hour shift schedule, willingness to travel to remote locations, and the ability to work unsupervised while maintaining environmental standards. North Slope experience is preferred and on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years minimum oilfield experience.
• Ability to work a fourteen (14) day on and fourteen (14) day off 12hour shift work schedule.
• Requires less supervision in the performance of routine duties.
• Demonstrates understanding of how Prudhoe Bay facilities interact.
• Ability to work unsupervised and maintain safe, environmentally sound operations.
• Ability to train other employees of lower rank and/or experience.
• Ability to handle multiple simultaneous activities at the job site.
• Recognize non-standard conditions and notify supervisory staff with recommendations.
• Basic mathematic and mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness to travel to remote locations by air, helicopter, or boat.
• Ability to work in arctic conditions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Experience on the North Slope, Alaska is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow Company Policies and Procedures.
• Monitor and inspect facility/field equipment to ensure it is maintained and in good/safe operating condition.
• Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance to maximize production capacity and quality.
• Communicate and report operational issues to supervision immediately.
• Ensure compliance with Mechanical Integrity, Operator Certification and MOC.
• Complete daily readings on critical equipment, including pressures, temperatures, and level indication.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Retrieve and test product samples for quality and integrity.
• Maintain detailed logbooks for reporting.
• Assist with SPCC plan implementation as needed.
• Inspect pipelines, valves, and flanges for malfunctions and leaks.
• Shut down equipment per supervisor instructions in emergencies.
• May work at multiple fields.
• Monitor alarms 24/7.
• Uphold company values and mission.
• Adhere to work schedule and be punctual.
• Be available on-call for emergencies.
