Job summary

Norton Energy Drilling is seeking an experienced diesel engine mechanic to service its fleet of drilling rigs and maintain engine reliability. The role involves diagnosing engine issues, performing onsite repairs, and coordinating with rig personnel on routine maintenance.

Candidates should have deep knowledge of diesel engines, be able to work outdoors in varied weather, and hold a valid driver’s license. Prior oilfield exposure and CAT 3500 experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Excellent working knowledge of popular diesel engines with ability to diagnose problems and perform field repairs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather for extended periods.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose engine problems and make onsite repairs.
• Adhere to all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Overhaul engines and engine components in shop facility and maintain appropriate spare part inventory.
• Respond to downtime in a timely manner.
• Train and work with rig personnel on proper engine operation and routine maintenance.
• Inspect working rigs for proper engine operation and complete necessary repairs.
• Provide recommendations for improved engine performance and longevity.
