Job summary

Norton Energy Drilling, LLC is seeking an experienced technician to service its fleet of drilling rigs and top drives. The role involves diagnosing problems, performing onsite repairs, and overhauling top drives in shop facilities, with housing of spare parts and adherence to safety policies.

You will work outdoors in all weather, communicate effectively, read hydraulic and electrical schematics, and collaborate with rig personnel on operation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing top drive problems and performing field repairs.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose top drive problems and perform onsite repairs.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Overhaul top drives and components in shop, maintain spare parts inventory.
• Respond to downtime in a timely manner.
• Train and work with rig personnel on operation and maintenance.
• Inspect rigs for proper top drive operation and complete repairs.
• Provide recommendations for improved top drive performance and longevity.
