Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Englewood, CO is looking for a Project Engineer – Oil & Gas to lead planning, coordination, and technical oversight across engineering projects from concept through IFC.

This hybrid role requires 5+ years in oil and gas, a ABET-accredited degree, and strong ability to coordinate multi-discipline teams, support design reviews, and ensure safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Civil, Electrical, or related Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in the oil and gas industry (upstream, midstream, LNG, facilities).
• Experience supporting FEED and/or detailed design for onshore or offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Proven track record coordinating multi-discipline engineering on projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment and 1-2 years of field experience (commissioning, construction support, as-builts).

Responsibilities

• Support development, planning, and execution of oil and gas projects (FEED, detailed design, EPCM, brownfield).
• Translate client RFPs and contracts into engineering scopes and deliverables.
• Coordinate process, mechanical, piping, civil/structural, I&C, and electrical disciplines for alignment.
• Support design reviews including PFDs, P&IDs, HAZID/HAZOP/PHA and 3D model reviews.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, and data sheets for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Identify and mitigate technical and execution risks, including MOC processes.
• Contribute to quality assurance and lessons-learned initiatives; support estimates and scheduling from an engineering perspective.
• Ensure HSE and process safety requirements are applied in design and execution.
