Job summary

Gulf Island in Houma, LA is seeking an HSE Coordinator to monitor daily yard and shop safety, ensuring compliance with rules and reporting hazards to management. Responsibilities include daily safety and facility inspections, assisting investigations, escorting injured personnel, issuing safety equipment, and preparing weekly reports; occasional offshore travel may be required.

This role requires 2+ years in HSE in oil and gas, a HS diploma or GED, bilingual English/Spanish, TWIC card, and

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in HSE within the oil & gas industry
• High school diploma or GED must be shown
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Must fluently speak Spanish and English
• Must be able to work On-Call occasionally
• Must be able to work night shift occasionally
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Must pass a background check
• Valid TWIC card

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections of field operations and ensure safe work practices
• Conduct daily facility inspections to identify unsafe conditions and report findings to supervision
• Participate in accident investigations and prepare reports
• Escort personnel with on-the-job injuries to medical facilities
• Assist in issuing safety equipment and maintain inventory
• Prepare weekly safety reports and OSHA-related documents
• Occasionally travel to offshore platforms as required
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
