Job summary

BIC Recruiting has a project-based Controller opportunity in Tyler, Texas, handling financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, A/P and A/R, plus daily office operations for an oil & gas services client.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in accounting and at least 5 years in a Controller or Office Manager role, with QuickBooks or Sage and advanced Excel skills. DOT regulatory knowledge and English/Spanish bilingualism are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or Office Manager role.
• Prior experience in oil & gas services strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of DOT transportation and pipeline regulations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
• Manage payroll processing and related compliance tasks.
• Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including tax laws and DOT requirements.
• Implement and refine office procedures and administrative workflows.
• Supervise office staff and support functions as the company grows.
• Work closely with leadership to maintain financial health and operational efficiency.
