Job summary

Resource Energy Equipment in Shreveport, LA is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal financial processes across multiple divisions within the oil & gas industry. The role requires strong leadership, a solid GAAP background, and the ability to drive operational efficiency while maintaining financial accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting or financial management experience.
• Prior Controller or senior-level accounting experience preferred.
• Oil & gas, industrial, manufacturing, or service industry experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, bank reconciliations, and fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to financial policies.
• Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, and tax professionals.
• Develop and improve internal accounting controls and procedures.
• Assist leadership with financial analysis and strategic planning.
• Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support operational teams with cost tracking and reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism of financial records.
