Job summary

C3 AI is seeking an Industry Solution Leader for Oil, Gas & Chemical to lead the design and delivery of enterprise AI solutions for refining and chemical asset performance. The role demands deep industry knowledge, hands-on leadership, and cross-functional collaboration across customer teams and internal engineers.

The ISL will own problem definition through deployment, guiding both technical and business outcomes, with travel as needed to client sites and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 7+ years in engineering, manufacturing, operations, reliability, or industrial consulting.
• Deep experience in asset‑intensive industries (oil & gas, chemicals, mining, utilities, etc.).
• Experience solving complex operational problems and improving equipment reliability or energy efficiency.
• Strong understanding of industrial equipment, processes, and maintenance practices.
• Experience with industrial data including sensor/time-series data, alarms, and production information.
• Experience with process historians, SCADA, DCS, MES, ERP, and industrial analytics platforms.
• Ability to translate engineering problems into AI/optimization solutions.
• Strong communication, leadership, and travel ability.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall solution strategy, technical direction, and delivery outcomes for assigned engagements from problem definition through deployment and scale.
• Serve as the primary customer-facing solution leader and domain expert across customer operations.
• Identify and quantify high-impact opportunities in reliability, throughput, energy efficiency, and production performance.
• Translate complex challenges into AI, ML, optimization, and software problems with clear requirements and value.
• Lead engagements from use case definition to validation and scale-out.
• Lead cross-functional teams of Forward Deployed Engineers, data scientists, product managers, engineers, and industry experts.
• Collaborate with customer engineers and executives to validate requirements, workflows and business impact.
• Develop repeatable industry methodologies and best practices for scalable deployments.
