Job Responsibilities:

  • Install and Maintain Oil Burners: Perform residential oil burner installations, servicing, and repairs to ensure efficient heating system performance.
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Identify burner malfunctions, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and cleanings to optimize system efficiency and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Investigate and Resolve Problems: Respond to emergency service calls, identify issues, and perform necessary repairs to restore functionality.
  • Install and Maintain Fuel Systems: Handle the installation and maintenance of pumps, hoses, nozzles, and heating oil tanks, including Roth and Granby systems.
  • Provide Technical Support and Customer Service: Address client concerns, explain system operations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Complete Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, including work orders, job progress reports, and materials used.
  • Collaborate with Dispatch and Service Teams: Maintain communication with the dispatcher and other departments to ensure efficient scheduling and job completion.
  • Work Independently and Adapt: Exhibit flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed while managing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to all company policies and industry safety regulations.
  • Perform Physical Tasks: Handle equipment and lift at least 50 lbs as part of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of oil burner service experience preferred.
  • HVAC or oil burner certification or equivalent field experience from a technical/trade school.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards for oil burner installation and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools used in oil burner installation and repair.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
